7 Steps for Creating an Engaging Reception Area

When welcoming patients into your practice’s reception (or waiting) area, making a great first impression is crucial. You may not realize it, but the reception area provides a huge opportunity to promote your aesthetic services. Whether you’d like to engage current patients in new aesthetic services being offered or create a lasting first impression for new patients upon their first visit, here are some simple steps to make a great experience and promote your services.

  1. Ditch the mags & display before & after albums – patients love to see their injector’s work! Start by removing magazines and newspapers and replacing them with digital or hardcopy before and after albums filled with your cases. We prefer digital frames, however you can also display leather albums or photo books using Shutterfly or Apple photobooks.
  2. Educate with product brochures – educate patients by placing product brochures in a small stand. You can request brochures from the manufacturers (such as Galderma, Allergan, Prollenium etc) etc and display them on either a modern brochure stand or a pamphlet holder.
  3. Promote with a sign at the front desk – feature a monthly promotion for your aesthetic services simply by placing a sign in a regular picture frame or sign-holder. Download the template in FACETEC.
  4. Introduce your practice with a welcome binder – display a small binder on the coffee table that introduces your practice, your services as well as your bio & credentials, etc. Download our template in FACETEC.
  5. Display product in a glass cabinet – everyone loves browsing and shopping for products while waiting. We like the Ikea glass-door cabinet – it’s affordable and compact. Fill the cabinet with medical grade skincare products (such as Zo Skin Health, Vivier, Skinceuticals, Colourscience) as well as Gift Certificates attached to gift bags for purchase.
  6. Ask for Google Reviews – increase your chances of attracting and retaining patients by building a collection of positive online reviews. Reviews also help enhance your practice’s reputation and visibility. Simply place a Google review sign at your reception desk or on the coffee table for patients to scan. You can also download our template in FACETEC.
  7. Offer healthy beverages & snacks – create a hospitality station with beverages in a small fridge (bottled water, sparkling water, healthy fruit juices, etc) and healthy snacks (packaged nuts, dark chocolate and dried fruit). Shop your local Costco for ideas!
